Strok is one of my first year project at ENJMIN. It involved 6 persons for 3 months.
Strok is a unique experience for the iPhone : make a painting come to life, put it in motion and music, recompose it… All these variations gather around a common theme: an art reachable for everyone. Standing as the painter, the user becomes the creator of a painting yet to be invented.
In Strok, the user is free to play with three paintings inspired by the imagery of some famous artists of the twentieth century. Each painting is a sandbox where a particular activity is stressed and each of these activities is connected to a notion of pictorial composition. Therefore, the user is aware of rhythm, color and balance in paintings.
Strok is a playful experience that brings the opportunity to discover the abstract era in paintings in a unique and original way.
At the e.magiciens 2009, Strok won the “Author” prize presented by the SACD. It was also a nominee for the “Best Sound Design” prize.
Strok is available on iPhone.
We used Unity iPhone Advanced to develop Strok.
